Fuelwood are now the UK importers of the Avesta Vagnen range of small timber
trailers and cranes.
Avesta Vagnen produce Sweden’s “No 1” Forestry Cranes and Trailers for ATV’s,
Utility Vehicles and Compact/Alpine Tractors.
We have had the Market leading MS48 working here at Claywood. Over the last
6 months we have put the Trailer to the test, to sum up how good the trailer
was, Well simply, Outstanding!
We have been using a small Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle to pull the trailer,
the Mule has not got much grunt however, the 2 speed trailer 4wd system was
faultless when fully loaded the trailer would drive the Mule around without
needing to engage its own drive. The traction and power is incredible never
getting stuck. But what was most impressive is how little damage, if any was
done to the ground and woodland tracks. The low ground pressure did not create ruts
or cut up the woodland floor, even when we had the trailer fully loaded at around 2500kgs.
The 4.8 metre crane was great and lifted larger timbers then we expected,
the stability of the trailer/crane combination was good and the rear boogie of
the trailer could be hydraulically shifted backwards made the unit very stable.
When moving around bring the boogie forward balance the load and put the right
amount of load on the rear of the Mule.
We decided to bring the first unit into the UK with the Radio controlled
winch, we have never used any Trailer/Winch combination before, and we are
converted! The winch is easy to use, powerful and fast. It meant we could
quickly load timber in the wood without needing to re-site the trailer, being
Radio control reduced the walking ‘to-and-fro’
We have supplied a number of the units into the UK and are now imminently awaiting
delivery of the complete range.
